Independence Day

It's been several years since our summer sweet spot was sold, and we're still finding our way in the world of tradition when it comes to summer holidays on the west side.

To honor the birth of our country, we decided to try a parade. There were several to choose from in the area, but we opted for one that ran through the campus of a local university (where Grandma teaches!). It was really great - small town feel, easy parking, family friendly, and the parade length was just right for our crew of little kids.

After the parade, the kids did some bike decorating for their own parade. We packed up and took their wheels over to Aunt Becky and Uncle Dave's to showcase their work and later enjoy a cookout dinner and backyard fun on the trampoline.

We're so thankful for our freedoms and happy to celebrate our country today!
